Explore Birmingham’s burgeoning brewery sector and tour the facilities where one-of-a kind craft beers are made. Enjoy your favorite local brew and discover new ones along the way.
Craft beer is booming in Alabama and it’s only getting better. Birmingham is solidifying itself as a destination for craft beer lovers and we want your guests to get a “taste”.
The Tasty Tour starts with Avondale Brewery, located in the heart of Birmingham’s Avondale neighborhood. Taking up almost a quarter block, you might as well call it a park with a beer. Dogs are welcome, often there’s live music, and sometimes the food trucks set up shop too. There are plenty of options on tap, from the Spring Street Saison to the No Joka Mocha, but be careful with the Miss Fancy’s Triple — that one packs 10% ABV.
The next stop will introduce your guests to some “Good People”… Good People Brewing, just across from Birmingham’s new Region’s Field. This unique brewery showcases its taproom inside the actual running brewery. So you can sit and sip an IPA while people are making the next batch just a few feet away. Guests can choose from one of five year-round beers, or a seasonal. The flagship brew is a pale ale. Other year-rounds include a coffee oatmeal stout, a brown ale, Snake Handler (a double IPA), and an IPA.
Located just east of downtown near Pepper Place, Cahaba is the newest and largest of the breweries to enter the Birmingham Brew Scene…and they have Skee-Ball! Guests can try the Oka Uba IPA, the Ryezome Rye Stout, and the very popular Cahaba Blonde.
In addition to the actual tours and tastings guests will receive some great souvenir “swag” from each stop!
